thoughts on K&n powerlid

just wondering what your thought on kn powerlid are. Worth it...junk,etc.

My thought is it would work well enough, but it's way overpriced. Get one of these.....

Or better yet, make your own.

Whatever you go with it helps to get some silicone spray (boot sealer, tent sealer ect.) and give it a good coat to make it extra water resistant.

yeah i was wondering that too, because i have a kn in an old car of mine, and was gonna try that also. after cutting hole in the air box and trimming filter how do i get it to stay in place.

Well I meant make one out of the outerwear material. I made mine from an old K&N filter cover I had.

What I did was....

Cut a hole in my airbox lid.

Stretch the material over the hole

Fasten it down with some aluminum strapping I cut and a buttload of rivets

Then trim the material around the outside of the strapping so it looks nice and neat.

Clear as mud?

Oh also I put a layer of contact cement between the strapping and the material so it doesn't pull out.
