JB racing did this frame. The parts he bought from jb and the work he did on the frame wasnt that bad price wise. Frame Conversion, waterpump spout, kickstart lever and extension, intake manifold.

Then the radiator was around 350 then a custom hmf pipe for whatever there retail is.

WOW thats a nice quad. Are these quads really that much faster then a piped 450r? What kind of extra maintnence does it require?

Havent rode it yet he still needs to get a new inner clutch hub. And then tune the carb. Keeping the oil changed frequently would be the biggest thing.

kfulk what did he tell HMF,that he wanted a custom CRF 450 pipe did he send them some kind of mock up of some sort?

lol so you think if i call them up they will be able to make me a pipe?considering that they should still have the original layouts and what not?

Its hard to say. it might have been one of them things where they just make it and move on to something else.

It probly depends who does the conversion to. Not everyones specs are the same from one frame to another.

If you want something done local it might be best using a 450r pipe and modifying that to fit if there isnt anyone local to build a pipe. His stock 450r headpipe would touch the rear shock reservoir. If you could bend it out a little bit that might be an option.

You'd probably be better off just selling your EX and buying a 450R. The difference in money would probably be near the same. And you'd have much less grief doing it that way.

I've raced both a 450 in a Houser racing frame and several HRC equipped 450R's. The difference in power is minimal.
