cr high bend bars on my 400

i have been using atv high bars and i like how they feel. i just got a pair of cr high bars because i love the way they look on all the race bikes i see in all the magazines. to my dissapointment they dont look like that on my bike and they are way to low for me . what am i missing? maybe a steering stem?

I got some 2002 CR250 bars, and those are suposed to be a year for high bend bars. but when i put them on, they were low. So I am in the same boat as you.
