I'm looking into getting a big bore kit soon. I dont have enough money for a big bore kit and cam. What would be your suggestions. Should I go with a 416? a 426??

dont worry about that big of a bore until you can afford a cam, because it will be pointless, if you have money for just one or the other, get a hotcam stg1 cam. it is easier to swap out or you can do std. bore high comp piston?

It's never good to start these projects on a tight budget because you may be forced to cut corners along the way. Do all your research first and save your money until you can do it right the first time.

This same question is on every other page. But if you are going to spend the moola get the 426 with a cam.

416 small bore:D There isnt a reliability difference between a 416 or 426. The price is about the same too. You till bore the stock sleeve. But like EXDUNER said do a cam. It is pointless to increase the bore without having the air flow. Your already into the motor you might as well add a cam (and replace you valve seals).

just remember...the bigger the bore...the more rotating mass...which means slower revs. i have pretty much everything done to my motor, and i chose to leave mine at stock bore with an 11:1 weisco

you will notice a increase with just the bore kit.i know a guy that raced his 416 moto and he still had the stock cam.oh he was a front runner by the way.you can always add a cam later..trust me on this one;)
