Carb Swap (400 into 300) Question

If I were to swap a 400ex carb onto my stock 300, would I be able to set the mixture right with the stock jet and needle, or would I need to order a jet kit?

u will need to play around with the jetting to get it right.. i had a 400ex carb on mine for a whille and just could not get the jetting right so i went back to stock, and that is wha ti have on now

stock carb unless you have some motor work,you'll be much happier,trust me,bigger isnt always better..:D

With out any motor work, I doubt you will see any real gains.

They are hard to get the jetting just right!

my wasn't hard @ first to jet but for some reason now it's being finicky :( but it's a big improvement if you have mods :D

I have a "Stage one" setup in mind (starting from stock):

New exhaust
New Intake setup (custom ram air style)
11:1 piston
400ex carb

Those are good mods to start, I'd go w/ a stage 2 or 3 WEB cam if I were you to see more of a difference :)
