My lower end is toast on my 250 R and the guy at my local shop wants $185 to rebuild the stock crank or $216 for a new Hot Rods Crank. I told him to install the Hot Rods.

I was just wondering if there are any benefits or differences between the OEM crank and the Hot Rods??

You cant beat OEM, Ive seen quite a few broken Hotrod cranks...and maybe 3 OEM break

When it comes to these R's...you cant beat the stock rod and clutch;)

If the journals, threads, and cans are in good shape then I'd rebuild. Otherwise a new replacement would be a good idea. The hotrod crank assembly is a nice part, and your shop quoted a good price on it. However, rebuilding the crank should only run $125-140. Check with ESR or Eric Gorr, etc.
