I like all the info. you give on how to build up your blaster and all the info. you give on your GNCC's.

thanks for all the compliments

as for being sponserd, you just have to commit your self to at least 1 full series, and then start sending resume's to the companies you would like to be sponserd by.
in your resume you need to have-
name
age
series
class
how you finished the year before (if you havent raced dont worry about it)
your goals for the coming year
what you have done to prepare (practicing, keeping your quad maintained etc)
tell them what you would do for them if you were sponserd (run thier stickers and products, refer people to them, mention them on the podium and so on)
also, dont ask for any specific deal or say, "so and so gets stuff for this price so thats what i want" every racer gets a different deal based on different things like class and class standing.
just say that you would appreciate any help they can offer for your race program.

right now i an looking for new back rims for my blaster and i would like to no if honda rims will fit on a blaster?

EXracer83
11-05-2005, 07:58 PM
Nope, Honda wheels won't fit blaster's. I tried it after I redone mine but you can get some banshee hubs and use banshee wheels. Oh by the way the Honda hubs don't line up to the blaster axle either lol I tried that too.

which tires would u recomment for my blaster the maxxis razors or the kenda klaws both on douglas .190 red lable?

bradley300
11-08-2005, 07:58 AM
i like both of them, the kenda knarly's are nice too, but they might grip a little too much if you dont have a real powerful motor. try the klaws first, there way cheaper than the razrs

GNCCRacing.com should have all the information you need on the Sport Class.

As far as what district FL is, www.atvaonline.com should help as well.

your talking about two different things. the gncc's is the name for the national cross country races. the locals are known as hare scrambles most of the time. they may or may not have a sport class, but the gncc's do. the atva website should show you what district your in and have a list of local harescrmbles in your district

After you find out what district your in, Go to google and search for AMA District # (Fill in # with your district number) and then on their site they should have a schedule and a list of the classes.

Hey Bradley, you gonna be runnin' the sport class next year? It's gonna be in the mornin, i guess we are getting in the "pro's" way, oh, well i think that me(Caleb) and my dad(he's not racing, just driving, and pit crew) are gonna do all of them except Florida. Jake will do some that are closer.

i havent decided yet, i'm getting married in march and just bought a house, so the race fund isnt gonna be what it has in the past. i'm sticking to locals mainly, but i'm gonna try and make it to a few of my favorite tracks and /or some close ones. i would really like to make it to florida, the ohio's

How much money was spent to make that race ready? And what is the top speed?

bradley300
02-12-2006, 07:53 PM
i couldnt imagine what i have spent! its even bette now since the makeover. i did get some good deals on stuff so i didnt pay as much as is it worth.

full set of hiper wheels 750ish
gytr rear hubs 250ish
SMS +3+1 LT a-arms 600
SMS +1 swingarm 750ish
full set of elka shocks 1650
gthunder revalve (getting this now, no idea what it cost)
hot rods 4mm stroker crank and rod 260
sms porting and headwork 250
30mm oko carb 150
LRD exhaust 400
white brothers air filter 20ish
ITP tires 250
PRM bumper, skid plates 250 ish
TAG bars 75ish
CYCRA handgaurds 100ish
SS brakelines 80ish
PB hood 100
stock white plastic 200
clarke gas tank modified for dry break 400
LSR +4 axle 300
around 6835 + 3200 for the quad so say 7000 and 3200 so about 10,200 not including tax and little stuff i forgot to add like the gthunder shock rebuilds.
the top speed is probably around 60-65. i use stock gearing, so it cant be much more than stock which is 55. i assume i gained a few MPH since it revs higher than stock. HP is right at 35

i would like to start racing sometime. i own a 250ex. i would probably buy a used blaster and do what needs to be done with it to make it race worthy. do u think i should try to race my 250 or buy a blaster? But how do i start racing? what do i need to do? how do i find local race tracks? i was reading in ur thread that after 1 season u should find a sponser. where do u find sponsors and the information to apply for them? Any and all information would be very, very helpful. thanks.

If your going to buy a new quad I would recommend buying something bigger like a 400ex or something. Then buy parts for it until your old enough to race.

bradley300
02-14-2006, 07:41 AM
i dont think a 400ex is much better.

if you do just enjoy the small sport quads like i do, you will like a blaster or 300ex alot more than your 250ex

to find races, just put upa post on this site, there are plenty of people that can help you out.

to race, just show up and sign up. make sure you have a kill switch (and nerfs if you race mx). you'll also need over the ankle boots, a helmet, goggles, pants and a longsleeve shirt most places. i also suggest a chest protector.

to get sponsers just call the places you would like to be sponserd by. ask them if or when they are acepting rsponsership resume's for the next season (usually they quit taking resume's for the next season in about sept or october of the season before that). you need to ask them what there adress is so you can send a resume (dont email it, get a real adress, type it and send it).

in your resume, you need to put who you are, what you ride (dont put a huge mod list) what class you plan on racing in. what your goals are for the season (be realistic). tell them your race history, how you did last year (dont lie, they will find out). how you train, a few pictures of your CLEAN quad, and a pic or two of you racing. and a pic of your organized, professional looking pit.

tell them what you can do for them. (this would be advertising, word of mouth, posting on forums like this one) give feedback on how there product can be made better.

notice in all of that, i didnt mention you saying what you want? leave it open, that is where they make the decision

A guy brought me a question about his kid`s Blaster. He got his son a Blaster( used) and ran it for a few months. Then his son ran it with the choke 1/2 on until it quit. It will start and idle all day, but it will shut off if you even touch the throttle. He wants to know if he blew the motor , killed the reeds , or what. We tore the carb off and cleaned it out, then re-installed the carb. That changed nothing.

Did he blow the motor , or sust ruin the reeds?

Thanks

bradley300
07-14-2006, 08:56 AM
i would say to pull the carb back off and pull out the reed cage. it should have been running really rich with the choke on so really it shouldnt have hurt anything but maybe the spark plug.. might try changing it, it could be fouled
