Well I've got the money burning a hole in my pocket now, but I just want to make sure Im not wasting any money or not spending enough. I am looking at putting on Elka triple rates without the rezzies. I know it will be better than stock, but would I be better goign with say works shocks triple rates with rezzies? I'm kind of leaning towards the Elkas right now. Ive decided not to get the 450R fronts now as I feel I will benefit more from shocks that are designed for my quad. Any suggestions? I can get the Elkas for $465 shipped w/free shock covers.

what kind of riding are u doing?

Oh yeah forgot that part kind of important. Um well I do aggressive trail riding and MX and SX. Althought it pretty much ends up being just the MX and SX, cause I work and leave the time off for racing. So racing will be the majority of the time. Im only novice right now, but I want to do this right the first time.(without spending a small fortune) Right now the shocks are the only thing holding me back. I really hate bottoming out even when I land the jump perfectly...:ermm: Any suggestions are appreciated

My mechanic says that the works shocks are an improvment from stock and that the elkas are an improvement from works. I would go with the elkas. all the resivors do is reduce fading.

Yeah I think thats what Im going to do. Plus I can always add the rezzies on later down the road when I get some more $. Thanks

Your on the right track. The Elka shocks are alot better than works. Also you can upgrade and add the ressies later down the road when you get the money.

I got my Elkas off of Ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&tc=photo&item=4535482757&category=43974) a couple days ago. $895 with piggyback's, triple rate springs setup for +2 arms and a 200lbs (with gear) trail/track rider. I should have them in my possession next week.

I hate to tell you, but C&D would have gotten them cheaper for you.

Do you think they could get the non rezzie triple rates cheaper than $465 shipped w/free shock covers?

Give them a call. I don't know all of their prices. I just had gotten those shocks from them and I know that they were cheaper.

Sometimes cheaper isn't better. A lot of retailers will not ship to my location and Motomahimahi on Ebay always goes the extra mile to make sure his customers are satisfied. Had I known about C&D I probably would have checked them out. How much lower do they sell their Elkas because a couple friends over here are looking for shocks too.

Somewhere between $50-$75 cheaper when I ordered mine.

$50~$75 wouldn't have swayed me since I do not have to pay shipping and the shocks are coming with covers. Do you have the URL for C&D because I'd like to check them out.

That is a good deal with covers. Those shocks covers are pricey for what you get.

If your planning on getting a new rear I would check with Colby at C&D racing. He can put a conversion kit in it and cost ALOT less than a new one...It also has the SSD

Are you happy with the Elka conversion on the rear shock? I've heard people that have not been happy....

it is MUCH cheaper to buy the rezzies up front than it is to add them later!

same price either way you go. the add on rezzies are $225 and you can get them in comp adj or non-adj you dont spend any more or less you just can add the rezzies on later if you are on a budget either way you will have spend pretty close to the same in the long run.

hey bradley I can be wrong too I talked to a guy that is an elka dealer before I bought mine and he told me that it will cost you the same in the end you can buy the triple rates w/o rezzies for about 500 then resviors later for lets say 275-300 thats 775-800 and I bought my elkas from jeff@quad shop they are triple rate piggy backs comp adj for 805 I believe not much of a price difference you will find.

I ended up buying the Elka Triple rates w/o rezzies. I plan on sending my rear to Laz at GT Thunder to get the revalve and new linkage. I cant wait to hit the track! Ill let you guys know how it is when I get everything on it.
