Clutch ?

Ok....I'm in the process of putting my R back together. I put the clutch perch back on and re-installed the clutch cable. When I pull the clutch lever in, the clutch won't disengage back...almost like it is stuck. I didn't do any thing to the clutch internally! Could my cable be shot? I didn't have time to really mess around with it today!
