dont matter if you got a 440 stroker with porting whatever your geared at is how fast you go. How quick you get there is a different story

I have a 416ex with a duncan racing cam,k@n,and some porting work, with 18 inch rear tires. My bike tops out around 70mph but pull most new 450,s and raptors out of the hole and murder a stock 400ex in a short drag. But when my 400ex was stock it ran around 65.

i hate that gearing calculator cuz it doesnt go with motor mods and peak hp nd such and jetting and everything else that comes into play cuz it says mine only does 62 but i clocked it at about 77 it was a bit off that was with my mods in my signature and 15/36 gearing o0o yea if you are thinking about 15/39 gearing save the money and DONT do it it makes your bike dawggy all around so far i HATE it with a passion:devil: :grr:

well here is how i see it, correct me if i'm wrong

ok, take a stock 400ex engine. stops revving at 9300rpm. now, pipe it, high flow filter, port/polish, whatever. still is governed at 9300rpm. with that max rpm going through the sprockets and down in your tires, it wont matter what mods you have. both bikes will go the same speed (assuming the 400ex can hit the rev limiter in 5th)

see what i'm sayin'? that calculator is taking the variables that MATTER- rpm, tire size, and sprockets.

so with that said, why would peak hp/jetting/ect make a difference?

i think people are going to argue on the ground that a stock 400ex cannot hit the rev limiter in 5th. but i dont know.

they can't and mine has a revbox with the limiter taken out but i know the motors limits so i wont push it to the edge but it is screamin way past any stock limiter imo

i was seeing what my top speed was and i noticed that the rev limit was 8250, i thought it was 9300 or something around there. Cause when i get my rev box it says that it will do 79 if the limit is 10300 (9300+1000), but i dont believe that...
