Steering

Hello,
It's been awhile wanted to say hello to everyone, hope everyone is doing great. I am getting to ready to go riding soon and had a steering problem. When I turn my bars they seem to be kind of rough like there is some restriction on turning. A friend mentioned something about repacking I believe the stem? If so is there anyone that could help me out in figuring out how to do the repacking or maybe there is a url someone might have on how to do this?

take off ur front fender... when u take off the fenders u will see where all the cables such as the gas, clutch, etc all meet into a piece of metal to hold them there... right below that there is a u with 2 bolts on each side that hold the top of the steering stem... take off those 2 bolts i believe they are 12 or 14 in size... take that piece off and there will be a green piece of rubber around the steering stem... take it off and pack it full of great... and put it back together.... hope this helps... i grease mine 1 time a month...
