Will 250r a arms fit a 400ex? I am looking into buying some from a guy on here, and wasn't sure if they would.

One more question, some people say they will and some say they wont, have any of you ever tried this?

Anyone else know? I am looking at a pair and need to know soon. Someone said that they will fit but they don't ride as good as the stock a arms. But I am getting +2's if they do fit, not the stock 250r a arms.
Thanks

They will. I had a pair from an '88 on my old 2001 400ex and they worked perfect.

No they wont, Not without some cutting. The 400ex will go onto the 250R with spacers.I did this a while back when I had a 250R and bought a 400ex. You can make them work with minimal effort but you have to take around 1/8 to1/4 off the arms to get them to bolt up to a 400ex.

I just grinded a bit off the a arms with the bench grinder.

Its not hard but its not a direct bolt on

Will this hurt the ride any if I get them say 1/8" off or 1/16" off? And when I grind them and everything will I use the 250r spacers or the 400ex spacers in them? Oh yea will it move the placing of my shocks where they attach to the a arms?

You have to grind were they atach to the frame. The bolts that hold your a arms to the frame. Those sleeves need to be taken in about 1/8 on each side

So they need to be grinded on both sides of the cylinder shaped end one end of one of the a arms? Does this need to be done to only one side of one a arm or both sides?

Both sides need to be worked down

how does using 250r a-arms on a 400 work performance wise? isnt it different geometry or does it still work and handle just as good? it may fit but how does it perform?

Shock ocation and geometry are the same. And the shocks I did this to was burgard longtravel +3 arms that I had on my 250r and then put on my 400ex.

i got + 1 arsfx aarms on my 400 from an r and they work great had them milled off at a machine shop to fit stock 250 r 88 -89 style will fit by just changing bushings

So if they are the 88 or 89 style a arms, I don't have to mill off anything?

thats what hes saying. alls you have to do is change the bushings and they will fit.

That's what I thought he meant but I wasn't sure if I understood right.
