This years ITP Quadcross opener was held at RaceTown 395 in Adelanto Ca. Tecnically this was suppose to be round 2 but round one at Glen Helen was rained out. This was a new track for the Quadcross.

After a small delay and some confusion the races got started and the pros were up first. The Pros were split into two groups for qualifying. Jeremy Schell, last years winner, got the holeshot in the first round..

Dustin Nelson was right on Schells bumper the entire race.

WestCoast Editor
03-14-2005, 10:14 PM
Here Nelson tried to pass Schell over one of the table tops and came down a little off the track which cost him a little bit of ground.

WestCoast Editor
03-14-2005, 10:26 PM
#29 Robinson and #35 Patton were battling for position. Meanwhile Nelson and Schell were setting there own pace.

Here on the last lap Nelson try to power through the corner for a run a Schell through the next section and ended up spinning out and rolling over. Him and Schell were so far ahead he had time to get going again and still take second in the qualifier.

As Nelson leaves the corner the rest of the riders come through. In third #66 Munio,4th 45 Guzman, 5th 75 Hayes, 6th 35 Patton, 7th 29 Robinson and that qualifier 1.

WestCoast Editor
03-14-2005, 10:45 PM

Here Mike Machado #61 looks to see whos taking his picture. He took the fifth spot.

WestCoast Editor
03-14-2005, 11:16 PM
My mistake. Here Dana takes a look over his shoulder to see whos behind him. This was a huge step up. It was 80 feet to the first step then 40 plus across the top to the downside. Only a couple of the top guys, most of the pros had no problem getting to the downside.

WestCoast Editor
03-14-2005, 11:19 PM
Here one of the local pros, Cody Roberts was trying to hang on to a sixth spot finish.

Your top qualifiers for the main were obviously Dana Creech, Jeremy Schell, Dustin Nelson, Ricky Nickell, Robert McLure and Tony Munio. All 16 riders would be on the same gate this time. And here they go.... This was a lot of riders for this tight one line track. And it was not a clean start...

WestCoast Editor
03-14-2005, 11:33 PM
The first corner was very tight. here you can see some of the riders getting together.

WestCoast Editor
03-14-2005, 11:36 PM
#94 Nelson was right in the middle of the mishap along with several other riders.

WestCoast Editor
03-14-2005, 11:38 PM
Here Creech comes through in the top spot.

WestCoast Editor
03-14-2005, 11:41 PM
Schell got through the first corner without any problems and was trying to catch Dana. Right behind him you see the front end of McLure #29.

WestCoast Editor
03-14-2005, 11:45 PM
Heres Danny Regan #5. He crashed in his Qualifier but here he is running in the fourth spot...

WestCoast Editor
03-14-2005, 11:54 PM
And look here, even after the tangle on the start this guy flies....He's moved up from almost dead last to eight spot.. in one lap! Right in front of him in the 7th spot is Darrell Patton #35.

WestCoast Editor
03-14-2005, 11:57 PM
#61 Machado and Robinson get a taste of Nelsons roost....

WestCoast Editor
03-14-2005, 11:59 PM
Here #66 Munio is trying to get back in the race after the problem on the start

WestCoast Editor
03-15-2005, 12:03 AM
This guy just could't get a break all weekend... Here in the very next corner as he was trying to pass he gets tangled with Guzman.

WestCoast Editor
03-15-2005, 12:05 AM
He almost looses it but gets control and starts the process all over...

WestCoast Editor
03-15-2005, 12:07 AM
And Back up front Dana was flying...

WestCoast Editor
03-15-2005, 12:16 AM
Schell was chasing Dana back in the second spot.

WestCoast Editor
03-15-2005, 12:17 AM
Running in the third spot and looking good was #29 Robert McLure.

WestCoast Editor
03-15-2005, 12:25 AM
Making his debut in the pro class was Larry Hayes #75. He was doing very well running in the 5th spot right behind Ragan

WestCoast Editor
03-15-2005, 12:30 AM
Darrel was running in the sixth spot. He didn't seem to be having to good of a day.

WestCoast Editor
03-15-2005, 12:32 AM
And here comes #94 Nelson again, working his way back up to at this point the 7th spot.

WestCoast Editor
03-15-2005, 12:33 AM
And here he is making the move on Darrell for the sixth Spot.

WestCoast Editor

Word has it that I crashed on that second jump after the finsh, I don't remember, but then I got knocked out and hauled off in an ambulance. I am wondering if anyone might have any pics or video? I am trying to recreate what happened in my mind....not working well so far!! I WAS riding the yellow m-n-m bike (womens race #8)! Any help out there?

04-05-2005, 03:57 PM
Hey!! Check out the pics on mxgirls.com - Nina posted one of you just before you crashed......from the pic, it looked like you hit that little double after the finish line, and the back end of your quad kicked up (there was a little kicker on that jump - I had to really pull up hard on the front over that) and looks like you endo'd.......I didn't see it, but I'm sure there were a few girls who did!!

I am glad you are OK....I know you were down for at least 3 laps.....

04-05-2005, 04:44 PM
Where do I look on Mxgirls.com? I looked around but didn't see any pics of the quad races? Thanks

04-05-2005, 04:58 PM
There should be a topic called "Local Races" - I had to look for it, too....but it's there. I think it's down the page a little......I'd just link it for you, but I have firewalls here at work so I can't access that page.......

04-05-2005, 08:42 PM
I couldn't find the topic. Could just be me right now...I can't sit for that long....
Thanks for your help!!
