put the clip in the groove then tight the big nut. And then tight the small nut on the big to lock it

Those cheaper Rad or Rec Unlimited lock nuts work awesome if you use the thin stock locking nut w/ it, it WILL NOT come loose and isnt near as $pendy as an anti-fade

no no. theres a metal ring that goes in that groove. tighten the big nut over it then the small nut to it

Here's a tip for those using a stock locknut. When it's fully tightened, the big nut only holds on two or three threads which makes them strip very easily. For those of you familiar with 86-87 carriers, you may remember a thin spacer washer that goes between the bearings and the center tube on each side. Get a extra one or two of these washers and put it between the disc hub and threaded collar, this will give the big nut an extra three or four threads to hold on and less of a chance to strip. It will also work with nuts that have already been stripped ( sometimes). If you can't find one of these washers I can get the part number for those who want it.

I have about 5 stock lock nuts and noticed 2 of them are 10mm's worth the threading longer(think they were from 89's)

I also have 1 of those R. U. locknuts and its slightly taller than the 89's by a few threads. they all grab more splines and threads than the earlier versions

Now I got the LSR anit-fade....but havent been out yet enough to see if I have any probs w/ it:p . I did have no prob ever w/ the RU and a stocker thin nut for insurance....but the spare washer idea is by far the cheapest:D good call...
