need offset help

is the offset the distance between where the wheel meets the hub and the outside of the wheel?


example:

+3+2 is 3 inches from the outside of the wheel maybe? what does the +2 mean then?

its inside/outside. a 3+2 wheel is 3 inches on the inside and 2 on the outside. stock honda wheels are 3.5+1.5 s0 a 3+2 wheel will make a stock honda an inch wider (all together) and 4+1 will make it an inch narrower
