View Full Version : HRC Kit or not???

hey i am gettina 450r here shortly and would like to know if i should get the HRC power up kit installed with it or not????

the bike has plenty of power without it, you should be able to pull the wheeles off the ground in the first four gears without any problems, even fith if your good. the kit will just give a lot more power, and it makes that tall first gear easier to deal with. its your call; do you want a lot of power or a sh*t load of power? its really not that much extra money if you want it. but i would consider that the bike already might have enough power for you without it.

i would diff get the hrc cam...i would try to find it on ebay without the other junk...

I would look into all the other cams before I bought the HRC cam...

I have the HRC kit with HMF full exhaust and it rips.

HRC is not just cam. You get open airbox lid and exhaust end cap ( which you may not use ) , but you get a bigger hose connector and a 185 main jet, but most important, you get the HRC needle which helps get the jetting right.

i would say get the hrc kit, especially if you pla on doing a piston. if not the hot cams stage 2 would be a good choice and you could make your own open lid, drill out your t-valve and, and modify your snorkel.

i got the HRC kit, and love it, reasons were honda designed it, they know more about the r than we ever will, quality second to none, and it looks finishe, the air box lid i mean. my 2cents
