I got a set of trail-tech torch lights and modified (hacked up) a vented hood to let them shine through the holes. I'm possibly going to get a lightly tinted piece of plexiglass or screen to put in front of the lights.
Be patient, they may take a few seconds to load...
Here's a before pic:

very nice job. i heard of people trying to leave the stock lights in and i just don't think it works really well with an aftermarket hood. that looks very nice though. all ya need is something to cover the lights and yourt set!

The whole job took about 6 hrs but, I tried a few different ways of mounting them. The mounting plate you get from trail tech puts the lights higher and wider. I cut some narrow plates out of some thick stock and drilled holes in them. That allowed me to swivel them to where I wanted the width and also to be able to bend the plates up or down to the height I wanted. Basically, I set them to where I would'nt have to cut too much out of the hood so it kept pretty much the same shape.
As far as brightness, they are MUCH brighter than stock. They aren't quite as bright as HID's, but close. I think the bluish tint of the HID's makes them seem brighter. These have a nice, bright, white light.
I wish I had taken some pics at night with the stock lights to compare. My friend has the bar mounted HID setup and his stock lights too so maybe I can get out at night with him and a camera and compare all 3. Stock vs. trailtech 50w replacement lights vs. trailtech HID's.
The chains work pretty well. They have the v-bars welded into the links that go across the tread and almost act like paddles in the snow. In the deep, fresh snow, the quad still kind of sucks because it's so low but if I have a 4x4 in front cutting through, it goes good. At least when I lose traction, I can dig through the snow and the chains bite into the hard frozen ground and I can still keep some movement going rather than coming to a dead stop and spinning. Definetly better than having nothing at all.
