Are you able to remove the link out of the stock chain on a z400. we can not get it to tighten any more and was wondering if you can remove a link.

Any help will be appreciated.

You can but you have to get a master link, stock chains do not have one, they are all rivited together.

if your chain is stretched that far, that you are out of take-up. i would think it's time for a new chain AND sprockets, BOTH of them.

Yes you should replace them. but if your just changeing gear size and need to shorten it, get a master link!!!:p

It has new Sprockets. I need to order a chain. How do you know the size of the chain or what to order. Since they just come in number of links. It is for a Z400.

Stock chain size is 96 links.

Yeah its a 520 oring chain x 96 links stock.
