i'd suggest a hotcams stage 1 cam, you can get them on ebay for $100.

what does a hotcam 1 really do and were can i find one

it'll give you some pretty good torque, and ive been told it supposed to give you a little more top end (i cant really notice, need spedometer to tell). ebay is the best place. i think the seller is "proactionatv" still and ships pretty quick, type in honda 400ex stage 1 and it will bring up quite a bit of things.

See i am 16yr old and i just bought a Lrd Stage 1 kit and it came out to a total of like $545 so right know i am kinda in the hole with money. But i just put it on and it gave me a sick torque,and even more top end,any other suggestions

you already did the basics,you should save up for a piston/cam kit

that will run you about 230 dollars if you shop around right

is that $230 for both and what size piston because i really want to bore it out

i bought a JE 10.8:1 416 compression piston for 130 dollars i think something around there
and the bore job is like 65 i think
and go with a hotcams stage 2 please,the stage one is more low end,you would benifet(sp) from the stage two more i would think

How much does it cost to install a hotcam....or is it easy enough to do it yourself?

easy enough to do it yourself,you will want to pick up a manuel because it helps out so much,but you have to make sure the timing is right and adjust your vavles which are both easy to do

its not hard at all,but make sure you have the honda manual first,it tells you everything you need to know!

I think the actual install(not including dis-assembly of the plastics,ect.)took me about 30-45 min. and that was my first time doing it,taking my time.
