yea but the thing is i've heard from a few people lately that the wait for walsh now is almost a year, and he isnt taking any more orders till he gets caught up at his new place or something

BTW who does 400ex to crf450 conversions? JB i think right?

BTW who does 400ex to crf450 conversions? JB i think right? i think i saw a lsr ktm frame on this site before.... jb does sell conversion kits but the 400ex frame doesnt hold up all that well with the crf motor in it, lsr sells a crf frame that uses 400ex geometry too

by the way these guys arent that popular yet but i bought my rear shock from him and i was looking at his yzf /crf hybrid that is insanely nicely and neatly built, i beleive you can run a crf or yzf motor with it too www.race-co.com go to ultimate chassis

i would rather stick with a stock frame instead of spending a arm and a leg on a aftermarket one,i think a fully gusseted frame will hold up decent...no?

no they still break i was going to buy a used one for 300 bucks with the jb crf kit, but i decided against it, he had cracked it all up and it was plated and re gusseted in a couple spots

If memory serves, the chain and drive is on the opposite side on a KTM, so that complicated the conversion process. If it wasn't for this, I bet you would see a lot more KTM conversions, they really are nice motors.

JDiablo

i think so,it is pretty trick, either PRP or LSR

"choose the KTM because I like something different, plus I have the options to go bigger. 470, 500, 510, 540, 570 and up to 612.
Also I like the 6 speed tranny and the fun button (e-start)"

interesting quote fom that thread, makes me want one even more
:p eventually i want a hybrid quad, crf, or ktm not sure which:p open calss bike tho so im leaning toward ktm if i do do it

Get a hold of thomas, i believe he some times still comes on here...
he just recently went from the 450 KTM up to the 520 i believe... it is a really nice bike and has lots of power, if i had the money i would of built one too!!! Thomas ktm is not a conversion it is a 250r based frame built for the ktm motor, lsr makes the frames too...
he opted to let East Coast ATV build it for him, probably get a hold of them and see what they can do for you.

I still havent built a full blown hybrid in which this will be and im going to let pappy work a color combo that noone has ever seen before so im stoked like hell about this

I plan to some day build an insane hybrid of some sort also, but don't wanna do the same old crf conversion...about a 2 years ago, i was gonna start into putting one of my 700 cc rotax mod sled motors in my lil sisters blaster, but then i got into a huge atv accident so i was thrown off of the project, and then bought a 450r... i had a local guy that was gonna build me a special chain drive clutch setup for it ( hes done this before , with putting snowmobile motors in lawn mowers ..lol) but then the project got put off and i sold the mod motor... but soon i plan to get into doing another project, but have to sort through some ideas first

i know the members are going to say somthing negative or somthing about it but, you should look into Herrmann Racing stuff,

if you call tell them Jordan gabriel sent you, tell them hes the one with the walsh 250r/blaster.

but anyway there are a couple sweet crf 450's on ebay right now.

On KTM's web site they are hireing an engineer for atv frames so you can bet it's on it's way, and if it's any thing like there bikes it will rock. So why go through the trouble of building a hybrid when you can just wait a year or two.

The suzuki dealer near my house just built a banshee bugie.
It's scary fast. I will try to get pics and post them.

Here is the link for the KTM Cannondale. This particular KTM engine has the chain on the right side just like the Cannondale.

The guy who has it now lives in Florida . His name is Matt Smith . The quad is actually for sale now ... it's in the Classified section . If i remember correctly , his user name is FlrMX911 or something like that .

a couple of pro's here in quebec are also racing KTM's hybrid quads. i can just say that they are the nicest bikes on the circuit. at least 2 of them are walsh framed , 1 is TRC and the other one is unknown to me.

Timo .... have the rules changed this year up here ?? Do we have a Production Class or .... ??? I haven't followed it much cuz it doesn't look like we're gunna have a series up here in Northern Ontario this year .... and the CMRC website can lick my left nut . They are glad to take the ATV racers money , but won't do jack chit for the Quad racers .

400exBro

No the rules haven't change at all over the last three years... they hardly care about us, they don't check for kill switchs, or nerf bars!!!!! they just put us on the track and try to get us off as soon as possible... CMRC is starting to lose a lot of people, it seems that most are going over the CMX side, which has a lot more class and seems more towards quads... ( www.cmxracing.com ) the races seem more up towards you more, where cmrc the races are closer to me and that is why i went with cmrc... There are more class with cmx and the quads run on saturday with the bikes running on sunday, (unlike cmrc only have 2 class and have to share the track with the bikes) this seems like a better set up and will attrack more quad riders...

the only thing CMRC does for us quad guys/gals is give atv nationals at some good tracks... Gopher dunes is a great facility, i love that track it gets real rough becuase of the sand, but it seprates the men from the boys!!! RAT track is also an awsome facility, doesn't get rough but it is really long and fast with some big jumps.... I think we need to get a whole bunch of people together and see if we can get more respect!!!!!

Ex_Rider43

atv racing is getting crazy here in quebec its gonna be very big this summer in the CMRC I cant wait and yes we will have a 450 production class and a 450 pro open class but only next year , we can say its like the pro class ans pro production class in the GNC in 2003.

ATV nationals are going to be only in quebec this year I think maybe 1 event will be in ontario which suck for you guys :(

Quad18star
03-16-2005, 12:13 PM
According to the South Western Ontario schedule ( SWO) ... there will be I think 2 Nationals here in Ontario . A few weeks ago they had it that there was gunna be 3 Nationals , but Cochrane got bumped off the list . Cochrane was an AMAZING track , but I guess it was just too far for everyone to travel . Looks like it got replace by Notre Dame du Bon Conseil ( or something like that) .... it's in Quebec I know that much .

Timo ... I didn't know that CMX had quad classes . I thought they were only dirt bike oriented .

400exBro
03-16-2005, 03:29 PM
Ya now there is only 2 nationals in ontario: Gopher dunes and RAT track... gopher dunes is also hosting the CMRC PRO dirt bike national instead of RJ which will be intersting... I hope that we get more classes becuase Jr and Pro just aren't cutting it anymore, too many people in the JR class and only 4 pros...

ya CMX is actually pretty big on quads now, i have always thought that cmx was only dirt bikes....

o and my 450 is back together now, really looking sweet, just have to set the camber and toe in and she is done.
