go to www.xbox.com and at the home page it says "important safety notice power cord replacement" click there and u have to give them some info on ur xbox like the serial number and manufacturing date and some other stuff. fill it all out and they send u a replacement for free. you have to have a xbox from 2001 or 2002 i think but if its a newer one i would still try it. the old kinds used to catch on fire or sumthin liek that. they send u a new cord in like 5 days. its all free so try it.

its only if you leave it on for a while, something my dad always does (yet he still cant beat HALO2 on normal difficulty...)

Yeah..we got a notice in the mail..Right after that our disk drive died..We ordered a custom oneeee :devil: It went out right when I got NFSU2 :grr:

Mine was made 01-01-2003 and it said it has been determined that mine needs a new power cord so I ordered a replacement.

it says mine is ok by like 1 month :eek: that makes me wonder if mine will last.

yeah with them you just get the disk read error. i have one too and i luckily haven't had this happen yet.

ive had mine 2 years and about 20 hours tops and no probs here.

20 hours isn't anything. the only time you get this error is usually when you get dust on the lens. its not a big deal though you can just buy one of those CD's with the brushes and it cleans it and usually it works.

OR Send it to sony for a free repair or replacment.:cool:
