With no engine mods, is there any benefit to running 110 octane vs 93 octane or should i run it 50/50. i don't want to cause any engine damage or be wasting expensive fuel if i don't need it.

it would be a wast of money. just run a good 91 +. some are running less but honda say's to run 91 or better. this is because of timing not compression

CAM2 smells great out of the exhaust, but that is about all I get from running it as opposed to prem. pump gas. If you want MORE POWER try one of Klotz's nitromethane additives

93 is fine for stock, you dont need race gas untill you bump up the compression.

If you are running the stock piston and have "stock" compression you can get away with running 93 octane pump gas.

One point to ponder, With gas costing as much as it is lately more people are probably buying the lower grade fuels.....So therefore the 93 may be a bit stale.

so stay with 89

so 93 will be fine right

Just to clarify things from my standpoint:

- I run CAM2 (probably no benefit since I have "stock" compression....)

- Unless you have "higher" compression than stock, I would go with the owner's manuals reccomendation of "92 pump octane or higher" (but I don't try to tell anyone what to do.)

-here is a definition of "pump octane"

"As consumers, we use the pump octane and manufacturers recommendation to determine which gasoline to buy. Octane is a general term used to indicated a gasoline's ability to resist engine knock. The pump octane is also referred to as the Anti-Knock Index (AKI). AKI is determined based on an average of the Research Octane Number (RON) and the Motor Octane Number (MON). The formula is RON+MON/2 normally abbreviated as R+M/2 on the pump."

Sorry for the long read, but I felt as though an explanation was necessary. I personally don't think there is any benefit to running CAM2 (or other Leaded fuel) other than the lubricating properties of lead in the fuel. Those same properties can and will cause deposits to build up after time that will need to be cleaned up. I also feel that highway fuels are formulated for reduced emissions as opposed to "race gas", which is formulated for performance.

The 400ex compression is about 9:1 and the best octane rating for that compression is 100 so mix it 50/50 but you have to time it like on a drag strip before you can see the difference but if you aint that picky run 93
