I ordered a W/B e-series slip-on today. What air filter do you recommend. I want to improve air flow, but I don't want to risk getting any dust in the engine. I know K&N really lets the air flow, but are they risky? I'm thinking maybe a Uni or Twin-Air. I'm planning on modifying the air box lid and using an outerwears air box cover too.

Run a uni for sure. foam is so easy to maintain, but k&n with an outerwear and properly oiled works just fine.

I run the K&N during the winter on the lakes when there isn't any dust and the UNI during the summer. Another good tip...If you are going riding for the weekend, have another filter all cleaned up with you in a plastic bag, that way if it gets dirty you can just swap them out.

whatever filter you run .. uni,k&n,twin air .. don't forget to oil it with the proper filter oil cause none of those filters stop dirt unless they're oiled

An extra filter, that's a good tip. Took my 250 to Little Sahara, OK in March, stayed 5 days. My K&N looked bad by the end of the trip. Lots of dirt in the airbox. Uni-vents were completely clogged up. Thanks for the help everyone!!

Twin air filters are junk. It's the stock filter in a different color. Uni or K&N is the way to go.

can you spray too much oil on the filter? Obviuosly if you submerge the thing thats too much. How much is just rightt though?
