I patched a stock 400 tire there from the inside with a large rubber patch and never had ay trouble, I couldn't get plugs to stay in the hole.

When I got a flat, I just took my tire to Les Schwab and they fixed it for like 6 bucks or something.

If you race or hit big jumps, I would not run a tire with a patched sidewall. It may work, but the chances of it blowing out are too high to take the risk. If you are just trail riding, fix and see what happens. The worst that can come of it would be you have to limp it home with a flat.

Find a large Patch Plug- form Napa or the like. Get the cement and everything. The best way is to clean the inside of the tire where the patch will go, and apply the cement. Then light the cement on fire, yes, on fire! Let it burn for a few seconds. Then, apply your patch plug. run the wheel over it that comes in the kit to seat the patch. Then I always just slap some more cement over the top of the patch. I fixed some tires with some pretty big gashes in them that way.
