When are the new Snell rated helmets coming out? I'm looking for a M2005, not a M2000. I use my helmet to run at the drag strip for my car, and my old helmet is from 1996. The rules say that you can't have a helmet with a snell rating over that is over 10 years old.


Shouldn't there be some new helmet styles hitting the market soon?

It's not so much the Shall rating it's the fact that your helmet has served it life. A fiberglass helmet is only good for 7 years or until a severe impact. After that time it isn't considered safe.

Really, how come EVERY place that I go only has the M2000?? Hell they weren't supposed to be out till Feb anyway.

Only good for 7 years??? One severe impact yes, but seven years?
