View Full Version : Which Shop manual is best?

should I get a clymer, hayes, or factory service manual. I just hate it when i go to work on something and the manual either 1. does not cover it or 2. gives really bad directions.... I have seen some crappy hayes manuals for cars... thanks ya'h!

If you are getting only one, then the official Honda manual is the one to have. It is not perfect, but is better overall than the others IMO.

I personally like the Factory shop manuals, but only have a Clymer for the R, seems to help when/if I need it, but of course theres been times when I wish it had a better way of explaining certain things, I think they're both around $40

Simply put: CLYMER'S SUCKS!

There's is a downloadble version of the Honda shop manual on Everything2stroke.com . You will need Winzip8.0 to put the spanned file back together.

EddieSanders - if you download the actual TRX250R you will see just how bad the Clymer's manual sucks. I bought a Clymer's for my RMX250 and it was filled with mis-information and MISSING INFORMATION. I didn't found out how bad the info was until I got my hands on an real RMX250 manual. The same goes for the TRX250R manual. I do not own a Clymer's TRX250R but I have seen it and know that it should be avoided with blind prejudice:devil:

I wish this thread came up before I bought my clymers. I always heard they were good. It seems to be good for what I need it for though. And I got my clymers off ebay for 20 dollars, and I seen them in magazienes for 25, someone said they cost 40 dollars:eek2:

JTR - use Winzip8.0 (or higher)!! You have to download all of the files to one folder and then use winzip8.0 to unspan the zip.

Span = the file is broken down into smaller pieces.
