hey i just got a set up 450r for MX w/longravel elka fronts and long travel link elka rear.. im tryin to set the ride height... i know the front should be about 1/2" higher than the rear (while sitting on tha bike) but,,, how high off tha ground should the front end be? also.. is there a special tool i need to turn the adjusting not on those elka's? if so where do i get it?

what about ride height for a 400ex XC bike? thanks merle

for mx you want to be around 7"-8".for xc you want to be around 9"-9 1/2"
i used to have a set of elka's if i remember right you need to loosen the little allen lock screws then turn the threaded adjustment ring.there should be small holes were you can stick some sort of round rod in the and turn.i would think that elka would include them when you buy the shocks but i got mine used and had to impravize.good luck

o yea, when adjusting have the quad off the ground on a stand, it will make it easier to turn the adjuster, if there new they might even turn with out any tools.

Just read through this and it will inform you how to set the quad up initially for frame height.
