wow! a house like that in miami is about 500-750k! Incredible.
I'm getting married now and I cant find anything decent for under $250,000. I might have to rent an apartment for a while.

I lived in the house with the Red Circle Around it. I was in 7th grade when we lived there. Man it is a small world. The houses in the area where you bought weren't even there when I was a kid. That use to be all woods and we rode our bikes over there almost every day. ahh the good times.:D

A one bedroom condo here in NJ goes for $140k with $3k in taxes a year.... I really need to move, that would easily go for $300k around me....

That's right, Metro Detroit is really expensive. We bought a house in the ghetto of Pontiac for $95,000 but fixed it up and made $20,000 on it in less than five years. Then we got out of the metro and bought a 100 year old farm house on 22 acres just north of Lansing for $185,000. The house needed a little work, but it's pretty much together in less than six months. The bonus is the fact that our property is more than a quarter mile deep with woods and rolling hills. MX track coming soon.

See a picture of future MX track site...

Oh sorry, congratulations on the purchase foreman. It's a big step, but a step in the right direction. And the house looks dialed in already. Enjoy!!

Good luck with your house JHForman250R!
We bought our 4,500 ft square house on 3 acres for around $400,000. Since land is on such a high demand around here new houses around here with 4,200 ft and .5 acres are going as high as $625,000. Since taxes are getting to high around the area with the new highschool getting built were gonna head on out of this area and move to a better financial area.

Doing damn well for 22 years old! Reminds me of someone I know.... :D

I bought my first place when I was 23, a 1700 square foot condo, paid $67k for it; lived there for about 3 years, sold it and made 15k on it. Went in as a partner with my dad on a 4 family apartment complex, lived there for a couple of years. Bought my current place, a 3600 sqaure foot joint with a 3 car, sitting on 3/4 acre; Finished lower level, 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, vaulted ceilings, etc. Paid $175k for it. Still have the apartments (great source of income!); currently buying yet another house, but that's a whole 'nother thread....

Good decision, and the best of luck to you. It's a beautiful house.

hell my parents house cost roughly $100,000 here in kansas.......... 2,000 sq feet 5 bedroom 3 bath jacuzzi in all bathrooms on 5 acres and it was brand new in 2001

i honestly dont understand why anyone would pay almost a million dollars for a house that size

Nice house, I like the tile. I'm kicking myself for not having mine laid at an angle like that. That will probably be the only "toy" you'll ever sell for more than you bought it for!:D

Nice, I'm looking for a house right now myself.

How about this for booming real estate: my sister bought her house when she got married in 2001 for $170, her nieghbor has almost the exact same house on the market right now for $300! :eek2:
