Hi..well today started off not so good and it just got worse. My mom and dad came over and they told us some bad news. My mom has cancer. :( Its a very small spot on top of her lung which according to the doctors is a better place than anywhere else in the body & they will be doing a breathing test later on this month & they will go from there--which they will probably take out the spot and start raidation (sp?) weither kemo will be involved that is to far in advance right now--which we are all hoping and praying won't happen.

Now, this is where you all come in...you been so wonderful to my family in the past and other exriders & am going to need your help now. Please keep my mom in your prayers.

Thanks in advance everyone!

I don't know you or your family but I do know what it's like to either have a family member with or die from cancer. I'm not trying to bring you down. Just keep your head up and be there for your mom.
I have donated to the Lance Armstrong Foundation and got some of the Livestrong yellow wristbands, I would like to give you and your mom one. Here is a link.. http://www.laf.org/

We have such a support system going its just unbelivable and i want to Thank each and everyone of you personally!

I am trying to keep strong and be positive. I have too keep up my good front for my mom so she doesn't get beat down with worry. I trust this doctor and I trust the one that is going to remove the tumor (he worked on my dad's open heart surgery years ago) and with technology today there is no stopping us!

I will pray for her and your family. Like you said you must stay strong and united. Don't show her you are scared, right now her family is everything she has. Its what she looks to when she is down. Keep the faith, and believe she will make it.

Foxy, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family! My mom has battled breast cancer for about 3 years now and is finally in remission. Stay strong and support your mom in every way possible. Now is the time that she will need you most.

I wear the exact same "Live Strong" band as was posted earlier and have for about the past 4 months and have never taken it off. It's a simple reminder how precious life is and how quickly things can turn for the worst.

However, cancer research has propelled leaps and bounds over the past few years and much more is known about the illness. Have hope and "Live Strong."

When i read this post i went out and got a livestrong band from one of my friends and put it on. I will not take it off untill i hear better news about your mom. My Grandma died of cancer little less than a year ago it is tough but like other people said technology is amazing today. My grandma had it much worse as the cancer got into her bone marrow then just spreaded quickly she lived 12 days. Your moms is not that bad and it is good that they found it early. Some people go months without knowing. Best Of Luck.

Your mother and family will be in my thoughts and prayers . Like others have said ... stay strong and tell your mother to battle the cancer . Many have survived from this type of cancer before ... your mother will be one of them . :)

I'm sure you would be glad to know , that in recent months there has been a significant break through in the fight against cancer . My mom's step-brother is the head in charge of one of the largest Cancer Research Centers here in Canada . He and his team have found some sort of scientific link and a possible cure for this illness . Right now things are being tested with major science labs around the world and other experts in the Cancer Research Community .... He , along with other members of his research team , will be flying down to the USA to sign Patents for what might be the beginning to the end of Cancer . :)

Greg, that is interesting about your mom's step-brother. If you hear of anything new about his research, let us know what is going on with that technology!

Hello all....its been a while since i gave a update. Its been nothing but good news for my mom! Every scan she has had has turned out perfect and the cancer is not spreading----phewwww...she goes to the pumonologist on either wed's 3/23 or 3/28 (aka breathing capacity test), than she goes to talk to the surgeon on Tuesday 3/29 and thats when they will schedule her for surgery. We don't know if they will have to open her chest cavity up like a open heart or what yet....so lets hope its nothing major like that! I will keep everyone informed on the progress! Keep those fingers crossed & keep those prayers going they are really working!

There might be a minor set back with my mom :( She went to see the pulmonologist on wednesday and they looked over all her results x-rays etc. They said they may want to do a biopsy on the other lung because of the black spot. Even though the spot is smaller than the other one they want to make sure its not cancerous. We won't hear the results till Friday 3/25 which stinks because she has a appointment with the Surgeon on Tuesday 3/29 to discuss what they are going to do. So this may push back the appointment plus surgery. So please everyone keep your fingers crossed and prayers going that it won't come down to that & we can get this taken care of ASAP and get her back on her feet and well again.

Its been a while since i last updated everyone so here it goes.

My mom's scheduled appointment with the surgeon has been pushed back due to the pulmonologist not seeing the other black spot on the other lung. So we are back to square one....she has a appointment to do another CT scan (this time focusing on the other lung), than she will see the onconlogist (cancer specialist), than its back to the pulmonologist and we will go from there. This hole thing is fustrating because they thinks the other mass is gone but they aren't sure and they don't want to risk doing another biopsy if they don't have to. So please all keep praying for her & hope all goes well and we can get this taken care of and beat!
