I haven't riden ether the elka's, or the fox air shocks, but I say wait till foc comes out with those new piggyback air shocks. Everyone runs elka's and they are race proven, but I would like to try something different. I know those air shocks are goin on my 250r once it's done, and I get enough money for them.

elka shocks are remarkable, but i think these new air shocks are the beginning of a revolution. im willing to bet elka will have some variation of the airshox in the next year. i dont think you would be going wrong getting the new piggyback fox's.

Give the Fox shocks a shot....they are a proven product, we have raced everything on 4 wheels from Baja to Vegas and Fox have never let us down. I think they are new to the quad market...but all in all a great company.

If you blow a spring shock you can finish the race or keep riding but if you blow an air shock you are DONE FOR THE DAY. I know this from riding mountain bikes.

^same with dirtbikes.....they dont put big rediculous looking springs on the front forks....maybe in a few years springs will look rediculous on quads:confused:

If you look in my sig you will notice that I own and ATC200X and a dirtbike that have air shocks. Eventually quads will have air shocks but there is a big difference in motorcycle front shocks and ATV front shocks. It will probably be best to wait until the Fox shocks are proven.

fox has a very good reputation for quality, and someone has to prove them.:ermm:

I didn't say Fox was bad. I actually have a Fox rear shock on one of my Mountain bikes and I love it. It actually took Fox a couple tries to get this shock right so I'm merely saying: "let somebody else be the lab rat until the shock is perfected.":D

Who knows where fox shock division will be soon. I think fox is going to focus on "polo" styled shirts and drop their racing products all together. They dropping all their riding gear to sell clothes to the non-riding group.

Deal - the front shocks on ATC's are air assisted and do not have a coilover spring. They are not true air shocks but if something blows inside (air seal, oil seal, inner spring) it will feel just like a blown air shock. I have blown enough ATC front shocks to know how that feels.
