Hey i just install a 450r slip on on my 400ex, the sound without any spark arrester is great ! THe look is better than the stock one... it fit perfectly, you just have to take a metal piece to make you a bracket...

it would sound much better with an aftermarket slip on, did it mke a performance difference?

well i don't know if it's pchychologic but it seem to have a little little little gain... maybe it's straighter then stock.. i don't know.. i know aftermarket exhaust sound much better but i don't have any $$

it probly did add alittle power since theres not much restriction, if it sounds good then thats cool.:)
