hell ya! and now that the hype is wearing off the 450's, people are realizing that the old 250r is still the king. you are seeing more and more people building 250r's again, a year ago the 250r forums on here only had a handfull of people posting and now, it seems like every other day that you see'' hey I need help, I'm building a R''. not only that, it is so much cheaper to build a 250R that 450, there are used parts everywhere, and there are so many people with 450's that the aftermarket companys can't keep up, you have to wait 3 or 4 months to get your parts and when you do get them they don't fit right or not at all because their running around like chickens with there heads cut off trying to keep up and the end result is poor quality parts. I'm not tryin to come down on the 450r's cause I want one but not until the 250r is the way I want it.

robyone....Even though I own an R and LOVE it, I'm not so sure I believe that the 450 hype is over. Part of the reason that you see more 250r posts here is because the rriders.com site went down for good a few months ago!! LOL This site is good for R info, but boy do I miss that site!

edz, I didn't say it was over, just wearing off and yes I miss r riders too. I do most of my posting on r central .net where there are alot of the old heads that were on r riders, it is z rider 400 web site, check his posts he has a link to it in his sig. and I was going on the fact that I'm seeing more teenagers buying and building 250r's not just old heads that knew about them from back in the day.

I have owned a lot of quads like many people on this forum and there are many more powerful/advanced quads out there now, but nothing has ever matched the frame geometry, styling, or feel of my 250R. Best quad ever made IMO.

Ripitupfilms

exactly the frame geometry is awsome its low and slids in corners perfectly

cool ********!!! thanks for the info on a great site... yes im just getting back into atvs after a 7 yr leave. got married, sold my cherry atc 350x and atc 250r ;-( boy do i miss them things... all because i fell for some stupid byatch! but now im divorced and have a young beautiful understanding girlfiend who supports my hobbies! ;-) I was going to buy a 450 but i just could not get into it. maybe its because I always wanted a R when i was younger, but I finally bought a R and now im happy! Im totally stripping it down and redoing it. I know its just a personal thing, but there is something about the R that I just love. And that 2 stoke bang I just cant get enough of... anyways

its nice to find a site with great people who support eachother(for the most part ;-)

yep, Im 17 and I am building a 250r. It will be done for this season, lots of mods done to it.

No way in hell am I going to buy these new 4-stroke quads when my will do the same thingfor cheaper, and IMO the R's are a lot funner to ride.

Here's my R, I never want to have to deal parting with it. So I probably wont ever sell it. Just keep happily modding it. Next winter hopefully it will have an aftermarket frame, Pro-Traxx frontend w/ PV motor.

Thanks, JTR. I was at the site about two or three months ago. I think it was right when it just launched and there wasn't much activity on it. I'll check it out again now!

i had a 450R for the 2004 racing season...lets just say a week after my last race i went down to ohio to trade it for a fully loaded lonestar 250R...on the 250R i have cut my lap times down in half then on my 450...i dont NOT regret getting ride of that 450 even a tinny bit for this 250R...my dad also has a 250R...we have 250r's now and thats all i will ever own...this summer im planning on building one the same exact thing as the one i have now so one is for practice and one is for the actual race....the R will never be gone...

i was thinking that when i get a job, i either wanna buy a 450 or build a 250r, ive always wanted a 250r. i think that a full XC 250r is just the coolest lookin thing ever. would a 250r with like, a 330 PV or 350 PV motor be as fast as a 450? i wanna build one but i dont wanna it to be smoked by the 450's.

Ripitupfilms

The right pipe combo, porting to match your riding style and an aftermarket carb will do the trick.

Make sure you have the best suspension combo and make sure you really know how to ride, PRACTICE A LOT.

by far the best quad ever built! if it wasnt built none of these new fangled thumpers would have ever come to pass! the fourtrax carried the MX industry for all those years that the cheepo dealers wouldnt nut up and contribute!

I personally love mine and am looking for more to add to my stable!
