View Full Version : How do i drain fluids out a truck axle?

There was some muddy water in my trucks front axle and we cant find a way to drain it out? anyomne know how i can?

just pull off the little pumpkin cover thing i forgot the name but if you pull that off it will drain just be ready with a drain pan

oh ok, i didnt notice a cover but i guess there has to be one, i was looking for a drain plug like a atv

if you had muddy water in there you might also want to replace the axle berings and re grease the hubs real good

does it have a dana 44 front axle?

i am pretty sure it is called the differential cover.

there might be a drain plug


if not, take off the diferential cover, it will all spill out and you'll need a new gasket when you put it back on

some rearends have the covers welded on and no bolts, so then you have to take out the 3rd member from the front
