Im soon about to finish my first tank of gas in my new 05' 400ex. Just wondering what you all recommend to get as far as oil viscosity/brand/filter. Ill be going to a Honda place so help me out hehe. Its cold here so I guess i need oil for the colder weather.

the kawasaki filters are 10 bucks a piece you can take the part number and buy a fram one for like 3 bucks and its the same thing on oil i use silkolene it is the best fully synthetic oil out the it isnt that cheap but you dont have to change it as often and it gives you more hp and torque

Run non synthetic of your choice for a while, then switch over to synthetic wet clutch oil later on. I personally like Klotz.

I may be mistaken, but I think there is no real difference between the 2. I believe the viscosities are the same.

I think this because Polaris makes oil they call 0w-40 and its the same thing as 10w-40.

And you're right-- the 400ex is supposed to run on 10w-40 because it is the correct viscosity for the engine.
