Hey guys, i am a new member to the site. I have a quick question if u guys could maybe give me some of ur advice. I am looking at buying a trx250ex, the only problem is that i am wonderin if it will have enough power to haul my fatness around. Iam like 6'3 245 lbs, and u guys have convinced me the 250 ex is the way to go, plus its all i can really afford. Id greatly appreciate it if u guys would let me know if the 250ex will work for me, reguardless if iam 245!!! Thanx guys

if your 245, i wouldnt get a 250ex. there isnt enough power there. get a 300 or 400ex. BUT if you do get a 250ex your going to want to pipe it and get a filter and get some 20 inch tires for more power to begin with.

If you can afford a LT Z 250 you can afford a noce USED 400ex there out there in the same price range.

In my Honest Opinion you are 2 big of a man to be on 250.Your size alone will make you very akward on such a small machine.
Some how try and get a bigger one you'll be much happier ya did

Man, don't get a 250ex. I'm not really fat, but i'm bulky as hell, and I am pushing 6'2", and weigh about 220, and i'm big for my 300. I wanted a 400, but my dad surprised me Christmas last year with the 300, he made half the down payment, i made the other half (without me knowing), and i make payments every month on it now. I'm going to put a pipe on it, and call it good, and build up a 440ex, cause i need something bigger. Well, the 300 is fine for me, my dads friends were surprised how fast and good it pulled me around the other day on the hills and tight trails. But, don't go with a 250. You could get a 300, but you'll be pushing the limits of it. I bottom my stock suspension out on some of the bigger jumps i take, and they aren't huge. The power gets a little boring after a while, but you really feel like your on top of it too. My advice is get a good used 400, you'll be much happier with it, and it'll cost the same, if not less than a new 250.

If you can afford a 250ex, you can afford a used 300ex/250x or 400ex. Ever since the 4 stroke 450 Production Quads (450r, ATK, yfz450) came out the prices have droped on 400exs to as low as 2,400 used! You can find Modded 300exs/250x for as low as 1,500. I say forget a 250ex completely and start lookin for a 300ex/250x or 400ex IMO.:o

Ya, mine hauls me fine, but the suspension sucks for my size. I have cleared about a 15ft. double and about a 25 ft. table, and if i miss the landing ramp, or down slope by a smidge, it bottoms out. If i hit it just right, it isn't bad, little harsh, but it doesn't bottom. I'm just going to build up a 400. Another reason is my buddy with the 300ex (he was about 6' and weighed 230), had the same problem with the suspension, so he turned to the dark side, and got a 97 CR250. Quite a step up, but he handles it ok. I don't want to be left in the dust, so i need some more power, and better suspension. Love my 300 though, but i crave more. Must go faster and higher!

I got lucky and found my 300 for 2,000 with red labels and shredders. Go with a 400 0r 300. Just remember that 400s dont have reverse.

300exr are those offset wheels? what size? how do they work? how much do they widen it? haha sorry for all the questions

if you want to change the offset, just turn the stockers around and put a shorter valve stem because it will hit the front brakes, works fine and looks alot better.

nah,i dont want to mess around with the stockers i need them for trails...but idk if i want offset wheels because they put alot of stress on the ball joints
