After removing the parking brake line I realized that the little actuator lever thing doesn't have any tention to keep it from bouncing back and forth. What did you guys do about this?

Buy a CR-250 clutch perch.

How much for that, where can I get one, and I take it that it will work with the stock clutch lever?

Just buy a new quick adjust perch and lever. Should only be about $20. They sell a bunch of them at every different atv dealer in my area.

Is there any more of a specific name for it and how does it work?

Quick adjust perch lever - is the name. Many manufactuers make one. You can check them out on ebay if you want pics. As far as how they work - they replace the entire perch and attach to the stock throttle cable. Everything else is the same. Also you will have to connect the two wires for the stock clutch switch.

I only have 1 clutch wire now

Get a RTC clutch lever and perch. You can get a really good deal on eBay...

You have one clutch cable. There are two wires that attach to a switch by the bottom of the perch (electrical wires). You have to short them together if you use an aftermarket clutch perch.

Why do you need to short them out? I had the same question about the perch. I don't have a clue. that is why I'm asking.

The switch is a safety switch that won't let you start in gear without the clutch pulled in. Aftermarket perches don't have the spot for the switch (although I saw an ad for one that now does but don't know which manufacturer it was) so you have to short the wires together to simulate the clutch always pulled in.

If I short the wires it will complete the circut and it will be able to start in gear, right?

Will a honda dirt bike (cr250) perch work if I get the dirt bike clutch lever (such as like the MSR ones in rocky mountain atv)?

Would I need to do anything else?

right, and I can't say to specifics on that perch as I haven't really looked into that specific one.

I used a zip tie on the little actuator lever thing. Free and you should be able to find one in your garage.

somewhat on the topic but... I took off my clutch perch and had the idea of completing the circuit with a fuse. That way, if I left the quad, I could just take out the fuse. That would make the quad not start. This would be even better for someone with their key removed.

I doubt too many thiefs carry fuses with them or would think to check. Also, I realize MOST thieves probably dont drive away the quad, but it couldnt hurt.
