So I was cleaning up my quad from a weekend at the dunes and was in the process of removing the stock hood/headlight assembly to grease my steering stem bushing. There are two multi-wire plugs and three single wire plugs to disconnect on the 400EX. I was using a knife to open the clip to pull the male plug out of the ignition bundle and slipped and sliced the red wire and the black wire at the same time. I saw a small spark and a little smoke and thought..."*****, something ain't right with that." I plugged everything back together and sure as ****, I have NO power. No lights, no starter, no NOTHING! So at this point I'm wondering what I fried...and how much it's gonna $$! Any insight would be great! Thanks for any help!

I had a simular problem what had happened is where the wireing harnss goes by the black side panels had rubbed a hole through 3 of the wires and i didnt blow a fuse but it was sparking like a firework and then it quit running so i taped all the wires up and it was good as new!

my moms warrior did that. My brother was putting on new lights and the 2 wires touched on when that happens it will blow the fuse. No biggie:cool:

I thought there was 3 back there with one being a spare. Maybe not, it has been a while since I have messed with those.

Yup...took care of the wiring two. There is a 15A fuse block next to the battery. It contains a live fuse and a spare. Now I gotsta remember to pick up a spare to put back in there, or it'll bite me in the *****!
