I want to hook my ipod up to my sony head unit in my Jeep.

I have heard so many bad things about the wireless transmitters, so I dont think I want to go that way. I dont have a tape player, so i cant get one of those adapter things either.

What would I need to buy to wire it up directly to the red/white jacks in the back of my stereo?

-Thanks

the RCA jacks ( red and white jacks) are commomnly just outputs for an amplifier, but yours could be different.

if you do indeed have an input, all you would need it a simple 1/8 inch to RCA adapter cable, which you can pick up at any store that has a decent electronics section

i can almost guarantee you the RCA ports on the back are output only. if you have the transmitter that close to your stereo it would work good. i have heard bad things about off-brand trasmitters but never anything bad about the actual iPod one.

If you have a cd chager you can got through there. I use that for my xm input.

Yup the adaptor is the way to go if you have an aux input in your cd player. If you dont, then you should look into a FM modulator unit. This will tap into your FM radio antenna, and feed sound into a certain FM frequency.

ive been looking in to this for a while since the main reason was to buy the pod 4 my car

alpine has a ilink module to use with their headunit

and a couple other ones 4 the stock system

yeah i would go with that direct connection setup. that way you know its going to work and its probably pretty simple to do.
