My 1st Freestyle Ramp Experience....

I hit my 1st ramp yesterday on my 450 and I must say that was the biggest rush I've possibly ever had. Took me forever to get up the courage to actually hit it....it was intimidating to say the least. After I hit it though, it was no big deal....my friend Jimmy and me must of hit it over and over again for a good hour.

No tricks as of now and I dont see anything extravagant anytime soon :D Just hitting the ramp was fun in itself. Special thanks to TYR Racing for letting me ride at their facility and use their ramp!!

I want to hit a damn ramp, i'm jealous. I'm gettin tired of gettin thrown every which way off the sand jumps when trying to practice some freestyle. Great pics, looks like a lot of fun.

Thanks everyone! It was a lot of fun to say the least. We were hitting it in 3rd gear. I'd just rev out in 3rd gear and then let off to half throttle to just cruise right over the ramp. Very easy after the initial 1st jump.

How was that landing, seems pretty gradual in some of the pics, might make for a rough landing?

Actually it was VERY smooth every time for me, good suspension could play a part in it too;)

Haha, yeah for sure, suspension is always nice. I finally got mine all tuned in so i'm not bottoming out anymore. Now all I need is a solution for my cracked case so I can start racing, hopefully by this weekend.

Sweet, my only motorized ramp experience is on a snowmobile so far. And it was into a down hill. That looks like a pretty good sized ramp. Would like to try it on both a bike and a quad.

Did it want to pitch the front end alot higher then the rear? Thats what happened to me, had to pull the rear brake to bring her down flatt.

Its a 7-foot ramp and I think we had it set at a 45 foot gap. The ramp really didnt shoot you up with the front end high too bad....I never touched the rear brake. I just let off the throttle and it made the front end stay level.

I really dont know....its not my ramp, it was some friends of mine and I didnt bother to ask. If I was to guess, I'd say it was probably 10 feet long? Maybe? Not too positive on that one though.....

well they say that you should make ramps 2.5x's longer than they are high,,, so i dont know about 10 ft... but if you could get a chance to ask your friend... that would be great...

im looking into building a ramp,, but i want to make sure when i build it, its gonna launch me how i wanna be launched.. based on your pictures,,, that ramps got what im lookin for, so if you get some information for me it would be greatly appreciated

If thats true than yeah, it was over 10 feet. I'm really not sure.....it mighta been 14-16 feet long. I didnt really pay any attention. Next time i'm out there, i'll try and find out....

That's fairly big. It has a nice flat pitch at the end, with no curl.

Looks fun:)

And on a side note, thats why I never use those bathrooms on the plane. And after seeing how tall they are, how can you comfertably have sex in one:confused: You would end up getting some of your load on your gf's clothes or your own, if it all doesn't get caught up in the end of your rubber.:ermm:

Well, they really dont have the equipment to build a HUGE landing like that. The landing is really smooth actually to be honest....it wasnt that bad.
