I have a question about the 3.8l oil pump.

If I understand correctly the oil pump is not an indavidual part on the 3.8. It's a set of gears and springs built into the block.

I am also understanding that to replace the parts you need to remove the timing cover. I am wondering if this is a partial timing cover? Or is this a major removal? (i.e. remove crank pully)

I have lost pressure suddenly, and it's not the sensor. I am definetly lacking oil pressure. I have already replaced all the sensors, cleaned the pan and pickup tube/screen.
