i have sanded down some old fenders. does anybody know how i should paint something like this? im going to paint them red.

I would'nt paint your fenders man, just a PITA. Plus once you wreak or flip your quad the paints gunna flex and start chiping, then it will really look like chit. JMO

there is stuff called plastic renew its like $20 which isnt bad you just sand down you old fenders with the stuff that they give you and put this on a few time. this sounds easier than it actually is its a very time consumin project. it will bring out the shine in your old fenders

If you are going to paint your plastics then there is this paint that you can buy at walmat and at auto parts stores. It is for painting plastics. It is flexiable, but will still scratch off by hard hits by branches. I would just buy new plastics if I where you.

The paint is called Krylon Fushion.

Yes the can PC plastics. My friend own a PC buisiness. He has not tried it yet, but he told me that he can PC plastics. He still dont trust it either. One hard hit or bend and I think it would crack and peel just like paint. :chinese:

the pc a lot of drag bikes and it looks like auto finish but it chips really easy

do not powder coat it or spray paint it. check out my cousins plastic he painted it himself. all you have to do it buy this stuff called bull dog. check his quad out here http://www.yfzcentral.com/invision/index.php?showtopic=21251 he also painted his frame.

he did all that painting himself? where do you get the bull dog and does it hold up on the frame and on the plastics?

yea it holds up awesome no cracks or chips on the frame or plastic. he has been in like 30 races with it painted like that

i got the paint its called pitt bull and it is a spray paint. the onl problem is i sanded it down and you can see al the sand marks

yeah peeple always tend to do that. if u wanna get rid of the marks wet sand yur fenders, yes the paint u just sprayed on, with 1000 grit then 1500 grit then spray them again. know u dont hafta get all the old paint off just get them smooth and spray again

its called bully dog not pit bull. and its not in an aresol can. you have to use a air gun to spray it not and aresol can

yea he wet sanded them only once tho with 400 grit paper. did u find that bully dog?

no pretty much put a pause on the whole project. im just gonna keep the plastics if i want a new color for my bike.
