motor will stay stock except for a pipe and some jetting and airbox work.

what changed my mind was the fact you can do so much more with the stock parts on one then you can on a 400.:D

and cody, STFU!

i figured some stuff up last night, PRM summit bumper and wide grab bar, PRM belly skid GTthunder/stock swinger skid, stock stem with low renthals and rox risers(maby), elka fronts and a GTthunder reear rebuild with XC link, ill run razor2's on stock or T-9 baja wheels.

dave do you run XC?

yes guys i have a 400ex right now. so STFU!:grr:

Dave400ex

Yeah I'll be running the local District 15 races...

I would wait on the swingarm skid depending on what linkage you run. I like the PRM Z-Plate, .250 the best...

if your going to leave the motor stock just go with a dr.d slip-on. if you want suspension just go with standard travel and save yourself the money. go with the gtt rebuilds.

definantly not, go with a hmf, or sparks slip on, that is if they make the sparks slip, either that or try a yoshi 1, for suspension if you get a rebuild gt thunder would be good choice, just because he does good work for very cheap, but your gonna see far better results in a full elka suspension setup

your up north right?

as far as motor im going to end up with a full HMF or GTthunder pipe with there carb work and airbox lid, does anybody besides ROX make risers? i know GTthunder will raise the stock stem, but im tall enough that will cramp it up like the YFZ. whats good aftermarket hot start setup? ill take the PB off so i need a good aftermarket setup, i know ASV makes them but there $$, i could rig something up but im not sure that would last to long.:ermm:

Yeah I live in Columbia City, not far from Fort Wayne.

As for the pipe, I love my full HMF, won't ever buy anything else. The Rox risers are a good way to go. Also the ASV levers are awesome, but the Works connection is also a good setup with the hot start. I believe both are pricey...

hey honda racer i see your from kansas. a whole bunch of us are going to the dunes this coming 17-20. you should try to make it down. and no sparks does not just make a slip-on. the dr.d is proven to be the best pipe for the stock trx. and they are coming out with a head pipe as well. as far as laz being cheap and elka being way better, how do you know this. have you ran laz's set-up? i have and ive also rode elka LT jd front end as well. i can tell you what i would go with. but im not here to try to tell people what to get. just here to give some other choices. laz knows his suspension. and that would be my choice over elka.

i may be at the dunes then, i never said his setup was bad, his setup is awsome, not as good as an elka setup though, it all depends on valving, elka works for me, something may work for you better, do you race at all? if i go to the dunes, here is what my bike looks like...:macho

cool, hope to see you there. i dont know how much im going to be able to race this year because im a manager of a foot locker store, i work non-stop. i hit the track last weekend for some practice and thats when i rode the elka jd set-up. by all means if felt like a great set-up but not for around 2 grand.
my first post might have come off looking like i was an azzhole. what i meant for it to be was a suggestion, not telling him what to get. these are just my opinions.
im not going with gtt nor elka. im going with pep. elka has made a good name for themselves in the XC scene and they have another thing going for them with there service department. i have a thread in the dunes section about our trip. check it out.
