what would you have to do to a 450r to beat a yfz that has a pipe, cam mod and a air filter. i am just wondering because i am thinking about buying a 450r.

when your racing a 450r and a yfz STOCK, it pretty much comes to rider ability. they are very evenly matched and close in power.

You wont regret it. I truly think that honda missed on the 450r.I was a honda boy till it came out and I rode it.Then I rode the yfz adn I truly didnt like any yamaha till I rode it.Definitely a way better bike for just about anything.

It all depends on what type of racing you will be doing. If you will be motocross racing I would go with the YFZ, but if you are going to do cross country racing stick with the 450r. The YFZs power is more of a motocross type power than in the woods. Too much power will get you into trouble. The 450rs power is more smooth and better for the woods. It wont wear you out as much, but that is just my opinion.
