I don’t have a stage two cam but I have the HRC cam installed and went down one tooth on the front. I did the front sprocket after I had the HRC kit installed. It made a big difference in the low end. But I seemed to hit rev limit faster. After more after market parts came out for my 450 I put White Brothers full pipe, K&N, open air lid and Rev box. With this setup I love it. I never hit rev limit and find myself shifting to get more power before I even get close to it.

Hope this helps I am not a pro about this kind of stuff. I hope you have the same satisfaction I had.

I was running the hrc cam with 13 tooth and it was great. once i went with a high comp piston and full exhaust i needed to move back to the 14 tooth. its a cheap and easy mod. Just get the 13 tooth and you cann which you like better, or change for different riding conditions ect.

hey garret,
Only you can tell that. The bike is going to act differently with the cam so you may want to leave the 14 on and see what you think of it. If its still too tall then grab a 13.

I have the Yoshi pipe & the hot cams stage 2 camshaft, and I too noticed that I hit the rev limiter sooner with the 13 tooth sprocket. I think it might work better with an aftermarket cdi. I 'm still waiting for a dynatek!
