isn't that the old site? I thought it was burgardcycle.com? The 450r isn't listed on the z400central site.

I would say just give Izzy a call at the number on the old site. www.burgardcycle.com doesn't work for me either.:(

yes they offer a 400ex swing arm along with a 450R. both are $525 i believe.

i was supposed to meet with him today to finalize pricing, but ive had a headache that would kill a horse :( so i didnt make it.

if you could get pics that would be awesome. I'm looking for a +1.25" swinger. How much extra for chrome? or could I get it nickle plated like the a arms?

Pappy
03-06-2005, 09:17 AM
you can order it either way. i believe chrome is an additional $60

450 Racer R

no extra charge for the nickle? which would you reccomend? what would hold up better? I have an LSR axle that's chrome plated and it's all pitted up and looks like crap after about four months. Would the nickle hold up better?

Pappy

I'm waiting on my rebuild from C&D. I'll let ya know when I'm ready for the swinger. Does it use the stock linkage or does burgard have a new one?

Pappy
03-06-2005, 01:46 PM
burgard builds for the stock linkage. if its a linkage your after, you may wanna wait a bit. it will cause the need for you to have your newley rebuilt shock resprung possibly.

I just want the extended swingarm. I'm not interested in a new link. Give me a week or two and I'll get a hold of ya about ordering the swingarm.

Pappy

all standard a arms are $450 shipped in powdercoated or nickle finish. the width doesnt change the price. that price should be good for just about any place that carries them.

how do they compare to houser ST's. i can get them for a little over 500 from my dealer.

Pappy
03-08-2005, 05:35 AM
if they are the standard housers they are very close. you wont go wrong with either.

How tight are the arms supposed to fit? I had a hard time getting my lower left a arm in, I had to beat it with a hammer. Once I got it in, with the bolts just hand tight I can pick up the whole front end with the a arm not moving at all.

Am I supposed to ride on it for a little bit for it to "break in"?

No that can't be right. It should go on just like yours came off. I'd send it back for replacement

Pappy

without seeing it in person id say you have either over tighten the a arms before (or the factory did it) or the bushings are snug. you can remove the bushings and remove a small amount of material until it fits the way you like. if you feel it is not right id be happy to have you send the a arm back so it can be checked to make sure there is no problem with it etc.

most manufactures arms fit too snug or too loose. the differences between frames can cause issues. ive seen some (frames) that were so bad that when you removed the factory arm it literally sprung out from being forced into the a arm mounts. aftermarket frames are made too closer tolerances and usually fitment issues dont arise if all the components are from the same manufacter.

if your frame has been powdercoated this can also compound the issue but is easily remedied.

I'll just shave the bushing down a bit, it'd be easier and faster than shipping the arms back. can you send me an extra bushing? I could Paypal ya the money for it.

Pappy

try shaving it down a touch, if it works thats cool. if not send back the arm and i will have it checked or replaced if needed.

ill be happy to send you a few for spares, pm me your address.:)

hey ken, on those burgard beadlocks that i bought from you, i finally got to try to mount up some new mx tires on them and no matter what i do, the inside bead ( on both rims) always has a bad seal, and the tires loose air pressure... is there anything else i can do besides tubing them, cuz i put tubes in them and they hold fine, but i don't wanna have to tube brand new tires on brand new rims ya know... thanks alot man, pm me ~Jason

i had the same problem, what i did was took the ring off,and i put some PB blaster on the tire and rim,and i set it all back up good, and tighten the bolts all good and i filled it up with a airhose and it poped right into place
