has the '04 had any problems/bugs?

im in the market for one, and i hear never to buy the 1st year of production on a quad because of all the bugs that need to be worked out.

i was just wondering if '04 had any

ME TO!!!

its a Honda no proplems!!! :p

99% of the verry few proplems they had can be traced back to rider abuse!

Actually,I hear of more problems with the 05's than the 04's.Mainly some early crank bearing failures.

But why would you buy a quad that you know has a high chance of breaking down and having to send it in to get fixed?

they are talking about the extreme shock angle, etc, the bigger problem is the bearing, i had my 450r for about 3-4 months, no problems at all :macho
its a 2005, so i dont see there being any problems

I've got an 04 and have had 0 problems. I few of the early 05 had crank bearing failure, but I'm pretty sure its all fixed now. The bucking is caused from the rear shock angle and the spring vs valving. For $250 Gt thunder can revalve the stock shock and get you a new link. I am running it and couldnt be happier with it.

I have had mine since feb. 04 and have had no problems ( knock on wood ) only issue I had was when I first got mine , it could be a bear to start sometimes, but now that it is broke in , it purrs like a kitten ( fast kitten that is );) Go get one !! You won't be disapointed

I've ridden one and I wouldn't risk it, I wouldn't risk it for anything if I know there is a high chance of it happening...it's called getting something else that's on the same level and won't have the same problem.

Nat the 450r bucking isn't that big of a deal at first. Yes it does buck a little but a little shock adjustment and most of the bucking is stoped but if you wanted to send the rear shock to get revalved it would work Way better than stock.

On my 04 450r I have had Zero problems with it. The only thing I think you wont like at first is the tall gearing on the 450r but once you get used to the gearing or you can lower the gearing I know you will love that bike WAY more than your old EX.

I should've learned from the past, never respond to any of your posts...

And yes I meant the YFZ, because it is on the same level...everyone on this site can back me up on this. I think both the YFZ and 450R are awesome, each have their weaknesses.

Because maybe I'm in the market for a 450? And a**holes like you make me not even want to ride a Honda.

But I won't let people like you ruin my decision, I'm just trying to learn enough about both of them before I even think about making a purchase.

Back to the subject...shouldn't Honda be doing a recall on those 450's with the bad bearings??

lol, well if he buys the yami, he will find out he made a mistake, he will have the same thing that happened to my friend, blew his engine 5 times, took out the whole head 3 times, the case once, the piston and cylinder all 5 times, the valves 3 times, and the rod and crank 2 times, have fun if you go with the yami!
:blah:
