CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF THE ATC 250R ENGINE IS THE SAME AS THE TRX250R,ALSO HOW CAN YOU TELL WHICH ONE YOU HAVE

Yes the liquid cooled ATC motors are the same as the TRX motors. Only difference is in 87-89 the trx motors had longer rods. Only way to really tell is the 85-86 motors are all black, cases and jug. The 87 motor is all silver or grey, cases and jug. I think the 88-89 had black cases with a bead blaster jug. But who knows those 250r motors have put in some years, usually they dont have the original cases or jugs. However any liquid cool ATC or TRX motor is the will work.

If you get me the number off of the left side case, I can tell you the year. It's on the silver tag by the shift shaft.
