TRX 400 EX or the LTZ 400 or the KFX 400.
Those of you that have bought any of the 3 above would you buy again or would you switch. Leaving out the 450s. The only thing that scares me is the Air Cooled on the Honda. Please help me.

oh wait nevermind the new ex's have reverse :o

i would still go for the kfx/z because of the liquid cooling. you gotta keep that ex moving for it to stay cool:blah:

My wife rides around my 400EX all the time and it's never had a problem of overheating, even with all the engine mods I have on it. The air cooling issue you read about online with the 400EX is 98% hype. If the EX had an overheating problem the engine wouldn't be as bullet proof as it is.

I've riden both quite a bit and I would say for a putt around/beginer quad the 400EX has an advantage in the fact that the power comes on earlier in the revs. You don't have to work the clutch as much to keep it in the powerband.

Both are great quads though. I would just take her to the dealership and let her pick the one she likes. If she doesn't have a preference I would buy the one I could get the best deal on, or the brand I prefer.

i cant keep my wife off my 400ex, it's got a s**t load of hours on it in all conditions and not one time has it overheated. she has a polaris 500 sportsman h.o. and thats her baby but if you are buying one new, go with the 05 z400. I love my 400, but the new z4 has got better gearing, twice the suspenison,a bigger improved carb, and just a good feel about it. i aint knocking honda cause i will always own one, but for the money, z4 all the way.

Bought her TRX 400 I think it will be a good starter for her. Thank you for all of your opinions.

overheat with those mods? something must be wrong or you are running too lean. i have seen lots of 426's with the same mods and no overheating problems in the oklahoma summer. check you jetting and make sure your oil cooler is still in good shape.
