I am looking to get longer life out of the cylinder. Right now I have a 70 over with a pro-x piston. I am only getting 6 GNCC races out of a bore job. With a wiseco I get about 7 races. I am running a larger radiator with engine ice with 19cc dome cool head, so heat should not be the problem. Is there something I can put on the cylinder wall to make it last longer, and is the L.A. Sleeve harder then stock. Also using klotz 40:1

yup u could nikasel the cylender and cermaic the piston, then u would prolly get 10 races out of the piston and not hafta bore the cylender, just plunk in a new piston an go.

doesnt it run better with nickasil? ive heard that it runs with less friction in the cylinder and stuff. all the sleds are nickasiled. im at .80 over and want to do something.... cuz im out of bores.

the Wiseco is a forged piston witch is a little more durable than a cast Pro X piston, that is why you get an extra race out of it. i doubt the LA sleeve is harder than stock, it should be made simeraly. I would check into Nickasyl. as long as you keep on top of it and dont break a skirt or somthing and damage the coating it is the way to go. it's probably cheaper in the long run too. there has to be alot of advantages is the factorys do it to the two stroke bikes

You got a couple more bores left if youll go to a 86 piston and use a spacer plate.Good alt to finding another cyl and going thru getting it ported.

Also, check your ports on the inside of cylinder to see if they have a good chamfer. If they are sharp edged they rake the oil off the piston causing premature wear.6 or 7 races on a bore dont sound right.

I run the 86 piston in the 89 bottom, .80 is the most I go b/c it will run too hot with the thin wall. And yes I have tried it.

Nickasyl? Who does it? What is the cost? I am within a couple hours of gt thunder, I might call them about it. I am about due for a new bore and how rounded should the ports be? Thanks for the info. As for the 6 to 7 races I know of a couple racers the change the piston after every race.
