View Full Version : how to use the stock locknut?

i gotta change my axle but the locknuts always confused me, anyone have any info on how to lossen them to change the axle the tighten them to put it back on, also how about the clip holding the brake plate on? thanks!

its revers threaded, heat it up to break locktie and get some axle wrechs from your dealer. or use big arse crest wrech like it do, and crank here like you tighting it and it with loosen the retaining nt. Then do the same with the other nut. When you can see the snap ring remove it and slide it off the axle the nut and brake hub will slide of as well and the axle comes out the other side, dont remove the sprocket hub, or try to remove it.

there is a clip ring w/ 2 small holes holding the brake plate on u need clip ring pliers and it still sucks to get off;)
